What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Questionnaire

The website is currently being used for data collection via an online form. This data will be used to inform us of how best to design and product our product.

Any personal information will not be used for any marketing purposes unless the visitor has consented to do so within the form itself.

All data will be held on our hosted server, and backed up onsite.

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

We will not use any personal data within the contact form other than to respond to the contact request itself, unless the visitor ticked the “join mailing list” tickbox which allows consent to send future mailings via email.

Cookies

Analytics

This site uses cookies – small text files that are placed on your machine to help the site provide a better user experience. In general, cookies are used to retain user preferences, store information for things like shopping baskets, and provide anonymous tracking data to applications like Google Analytics. Note the deliberate emphasis of anonymous, as no personally identifiable information is collected about you unless you explicitly submit that information on this website.

Examples of anonymous tracking data collected on this website:

  • The page view you visit and how your arrived/navigated to that page.
  • An embedded video clip from YouTube will send interaction data, such as the play click and the percent of video watched, to our Google Analytics account and YouTube.
  • Similarly a click on a social “share” button sends data to our Google Analytics account and potentially to a third party tracking – for example LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook etc.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

As a rule, cookies make your browsing experience better. However, you may prefer to disable cookies on this site and on others. The most effective way to do this is to disable cookies in your browser. We suggest consulting the Help section of your browser.

For further information about how Google Analytics uses cookies and IP address data, see: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/2838718?hl=en.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments or completed a questionnaire, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
